DIY Coconut Lemon Scrub
I don’t know about you, but my skin has always had a mind of it's own. I also bought a HUGE bag of lemons, and didn’t know what to do with them. So…I combined the two dilemmas and I decided to search around for homemade scrub recipes, using lemon, and found some great inspiration to create my own recipe I could make at home.
This scrub is suitable for use on your body and face (as long as you’re gentle!). I have VERY sensitive skin and this scrub was not only non-reactive, but made my skin look and feel AMAZING.
After making it, I tried it out in the shower–oh my gosh. This stuff is incredible.
I kid you not, I was glowing when I stepped out. The lemon is so refreshing and smells great, the sugar was a gentle exfoliant to buff my skin, and combined with the coconut oil which moisturized my skin, I had a beautiful glow. It's my go-to handmade gift for the lovely peeps in my life. (Spoiler alert, friends!)
I highly recommend giving this scrumptious scrub a try. It uses ingredients that most of us have around the house, it’s super budget friendly, and takes less than 10 minutes to make.
I've also substituted sugar for salt (works just as well, careful on any scrapes or ow-ies!) and lime for lemon (it's like a margarita! I think? I don't really drink, who are we kidding here.)
Anywho! Here’s what you need to make your own!
Ingredients:
1 Lemon (Juice and Zest)
3 TBSP Coconut Oil
1 1/2 Cup Sugar
Directions:
Pour sugar in a mixing bowl and zest lemon over it.
Juice the lemon and add it to the sugar along with the coconut oil.
Mix to combine and store in an airtight container. (Jars work as beautiful gifts or decor!)
That’s it! How easy is that?
Your very own lemon coconut sugar scrub to enjoy, now go get glowing!
